Abstract
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, generative artificial intelligence (GAI) is increasingly widely applied in the field of education. As the main force of future education, the cultivation of AI teaching competence among undergraduate normal students is of vital importance. This paper expounds the connotation, advantages and limitations of GAI, clarifies the meaning of AI teaching competence for undergraduate normal students, and adopts the research method of questionnaire survey to collect data, exploring the usage of GAI by undergraduate normal students and some existing problems in the process of cultivating their AI teaching competence through GAI. Based on this, strategies for empowering and cultivating through GAI are proposed, aiming to enhance the AI teaching competence of undergraduate normal students and provide support for the future development of education.
